Last week, Congresswoman Leger Fernández voted to fund over $74 million in Community Project Funding for the third congressional district of New Mexico.  She secured $879,506 in funding for broadband directly for Española.

The City of Española is proposing to install 30, five-gigahertz signal distribution points (antennas that will send and receive wireless signal) at nine sites in order to provide high speed, fixed wireless service to the entirety of our residents and businesses. These networks of antennas will make highspeed, wireless Internet available to at least 5,000 homes and 380 businesses. The project's estimated completion time is 9 months.

In addition, last November, Congresswoman Leger Fernandez voted for the Infrastructure Law that includes historic investments in broadband. Under the infrastructure law, New Mexico will receive $100 million in formula funding and 38% of New Mexicans will be eligible for the Affordability Connectivity Benefit, which helps low-income families afford internet access.
