Pet owners who have adopted a shelter animal or an abandoned or homeless animal are invited to send a photo and a brief story about their pet. Pet owners whose pets were featured in last year’s calendar are welcome and encouraged to submit new photos of their pets for this year’s calendar.

Entries can be submitted online at http://calendar.lafos.org, and entry instructions are available online and at Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital and Pet Pangaea.

FOSCA is an all-volunteer non-profit humane organization that partners with other like-minded non-profit entities, volunteers, volunteer organizations, shelters, and veterinary practices throughout Northern and Central New Mexico towards improving the health and welfare of owned and homeless animals.

Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals sponsors two special programs to help pet owners and reduce the number of unwanted pets. The Catastrophic Illness/Injury Program provides funds for veterinary treatment of severely ill or injured pets whose owners cannot afford extensive treatment. The second is the Spay/Neuter Voucher Program, which provides vouchers for low-cost spay/neutering of pets in order to encourage pet owners to make sure that their pets are surgically altered and cannot produce litters of unwanted cats or dogs. FOSCA also provides funding for spay/neuter surgeries in partnership with local rescue groups, including organizations that work with local tribal communities to reduce pet overpopulation there.

The 2026 calendars will go on sale in November at local businesses, and all proceeds will go directly to help the animals through Friends of Shelter and Companion Animals programs. So, remember, get those entries in by September 5!
